Transportation of Infectious/Biological
Substances and Dry Ice by Air and Road
Both Domestic & International shipments of Infectious Substances, Biological Material and Dry Ice must comply with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Technical Instructions and the national regulations of the countries the shipment will start, transit through and be delivered. Any restrictions over and above the applicable air regulations have been filed as “variations” by both governments and airlines, which must also be adhered to.
Many freight forwarders and carriers are members of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and require customers to comply with those Dangerous Goods Regulations to tender shipments for air transport as well.
As found in our Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Road course we will cover the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations “General Provisions” and “Special Cases” to address certain aspects of transport in Canada.
These “exemptions” will be covered as well to provide the most comprehensive overall understanding the regulations and how best to apply them to your specific transport needs.
At Dangerous Goods Educational Services Inc., we cover all these aspects and customize each course to your specific needs.
Our Specialty courses are conducted on-site at your location to take advantage of your products, documents, and hazardous items on hand for focused examples during the training. This allows the students to apply the course material in real time to what they will be trained to do upon completion of the course.
