Transportation of Lithium Batteries by Air and Road
Course Information
Transportation of Lithium Batteries
by Air and Road
Both single use and rechargeable Lithium Batteries have become a staple of everyday life, but they carry unique hazards when shipped. As a result, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDG) as well as the US 49CFR and International Maritime Organization (IMO) have set out specific requirements for these types of shipments.
As found in our Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Road course we will cover the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations “General Provisions” and “Special Cases” to address certain aspects of transport in Canada.
These “exemptions” will be covered as well to provide the most comprehensive overall understanding the regulations and how best to apply them to your specific transport needs.
At Dangerous Goods Educational Services Inc., we cover all these aspects and customize each course to your specific needs.
Our Specialty courses are conducted on-site at your location to take advantage of your products, documents, and hazardous items on hand for focused examples during the training. This allows the students to apply the course material in real time to what they will be trained to do upon completion of the course.
