Our Services
We at Dangerous Goods Educational Services Inc. (D.G.E.S.) offer a wide range of services. With over 26 years of experience in the training, transporting, and monitoring of regulatory compliance, coupled with a client base that includes various government agencies, law enforcement, educational institutions, freight forwarders and chemical distributors, we have gained a practical understanding of what aspects of training and hazard communication need to be emphasized.
We provide our customers with the necessary tools to comply with the regulations specific to transporting dangerous goods by road, rail, sea, and air. These tools are made available in the form of training, audits, consulting, packaging, publications and supplies unique to the hazardous material transport industry.

Training
The fact training is our primary focus is reflected in each course. All our courses meet or exceed Transport Canada’s requirements. All courses are adapted to meet each of our customers needs. This is accomplished by evaluating the types of dangerous goods transported; by what modes of transport; the types of packages used and then incorporating these aspects into each course through examples and hands-on exercises.
We prefer to hold courses on-site at customer locations at no additional charge so that we can utilize actual products, packing materials and documents in our examples and training. This ensures all the educational material is specific to each employee’s responsibilities and role within the transport chain.

We offer a range of courses for every mode and can combine courses to provide full multi-modal
training with additional specialty courses as required by each customer.
Audits
Having been involved within the transport industry for many years has allowed us to gain a solid understanding of what a surprise (or scheduled) compliance audit/inspection will entail. We have worked closely with regulatory agencies during inspections in a wide array of industries and transport modes, even so far as being contracted to collect evidence during inspections/investigations.
This allows us to offer a compliance audit service where we can evaluate and review a facility’s transport compliance.
A walkthrough and visual inspection will include:
- Packaging standards
- Labeling of packages and containers for transport
- Shipping documentation
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Risk / Hazard identification
- Security
- Possible Health and Safety issues
Comprehensive transportation audits will review your process from determining what the acceptable number of items is that can be shipped depending on the mode requested, how they are to be packaged, marked, labelled, and then documented. This will include consideration and evaluation of restrictions imposed by some dangerous goods carriers as well as some countries that the package(s) may be transiting through or destined for. Contact us today to see how we can ensure your compliance now and for the future.

Consulting
All our clients are encouraged to contact us for advice when either new products are introduced between training sessions, regulatory changes occur that may affect them, or they just have questions/concerns on how to prepare a shipment.
Helping in this way not only assists you but keeps us on our toes since most requests or questions are for those incredibly unique or specialty situations that are outside the common transport channels, formats, etc.
Please do not hesitate to inquire how our years of experience can be used to help you and your business or organization.
Package/Documentation Preparation
We would much rather provide the necessary training to allow a customer to tackle any shipping scenario required of them or their employer. However, from time to time, whether it is a single occurrence or a need to ship a product by a mode they have not been trained, i.e., someone who has only received ground training now must ship a single shipment by air. It may not make sense to attend a full training session or add on course for one shipment. So, we offer a packaging, re-packaging, and documentation preparation service.
