Some types of dangerous goods require, in addition to the placarding requirements, signs or marking be displayed that further identify those goods while in transport.  These are the “Elevated Temperature Sign” for products identified as UN3257 and UN3258, and the “Marine Pollutant Mark” (this is also required on a small means of containment) when transported by ship, subject to TDGR 4.22

Normally only a placard for the Primary risk is required to be displayed. TDGR 4.15.1 lists the instances where a subsidiary placard is necessary.

*Note*  The placards cannot be removed until the container has been unloaded, unpacked, cleaned or purged of all hazardous products and/or residues.
