- The driver of a power unit attached to or part of a cargo unit or a road vehicle transporting dangerous goods must ensure a copy of the shipping document is kept:
(a) if the driver is in the vehicle,
- within the drivers reach or in a pocket mounted on the driver’s door; or
(b) if the driver is out of the vehicle,
- left in a pocket mounted on the driver’s door, on the driver’s seat or in a location that is clearly visible to anyone entering from the driver’s door
- Where the dangerous goods in transport are left in a supervised area, the person in charge of that area is considered to have taken possession of the dangerous goods. A copy of the shipping document must be provided to the person with custody or control of that area.
