TDGR 3.11

  • The regulations require that the Consignor and Carrier of the dangerous goods retain a copy of the shipping document and any additional documents required by the regulations for a period of two years after the date the shipping document was prepared (the consignor) or after the date the dangerous goods are no longer in transport (the carrier).
    1. Electronic copies may be kept on file.
  • Keep in mind the definition of “Consignor” and the responsibilities that come with it for document retention if you are the “importer” (therefore the consignor) of the dangerous goods.
